For at least five years, Apple has been researching how it can measure the health of an Apple Watch wearer non-invasively and conveniently, in research that could be applied to the Apple Vision Pro, too.

Apple recently realized it could make its watch even smarter by adding sensors to the band and the dial. A recent report reveals that the Cupertino company was granted 38 patents on November 5, 2024, by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for a “smart health and communications band for Apple Watch and a future headset.”

The first beta of visionOS 2.2, Apple added wide and ultra-wide modes to Mac Virtual Display. This is the most important Vision Pro feature.

Apple is still deciding on the displays for its expected lower-cost Apple Vision Pro, but is close to settling on a lower resolution screen that is brighter and also thinner than in the current headset.
