  2. To replace the battery on an iPad Mini, you need to12:
    1. Apply a suction cup halfway up the heated side of the iPad.
    2. Be sure the cup is completely flat on the screen to get a tight seal.
    3. While holding the iPad down with one hand, pull up on the suction cup with strong, steady force to create a gap.
    4. Depending on the age of your device, this may be difficult.
    5. Insert an opening pick into the gap.
    6. Slide the opening pick along the edge of the iPad, separating the adhesive and freeing the display.
    7. Remove the suction cup from the iPad.
    8. Open the iPad by swinging the display up from the left side, like the back cover of a book.
    9. Remove the four Phillips screws securing the battery connector bracket to the logic board.
    10. Use a spudger to disconnect the battery connector from its socket on the logic board.
    11. Remove the battery.
